The League of Ireland First Division is the second-highest division in both the League of Ireland and the Republic of Ireland football league system.
Since 2003 the First Division has operated as a summer league and is contested by 10 clubs.

The Athlone Town Stadium is the home stadium of Athlone Town. It has an overall capacity of 5,000 and was built in 2007. Athlone is the oldest in the League as it was founded in 1887. The club has won 2 Premier Division titles.
The Carlisle Grounds is a football stadium in Bray, home to Bray Wanderers A.F.C. The Carlisle Grounds can claim to be Ireland’s ground with the longest history as a sports venue as it was opened in 1862. It has a capacity of 3,200.
The Saint Colman’s Park is a football stadium in the town of Cobh. It opened in 1968 and has a capacity of 4,000. It is home to Cobh Ramblers F.C.
The Finn Park is a football stadium in the town of Ballybofey. It is the ground of Finn Harps, it has a capacity of 6,000 with 351 seats.
The Eamonn Deacy Park is a football stadium in the city of Galway. It opened in 1935 and has a capacity of 5,000. The stadium serves as a home to Galway United F.C.
The Mounthawk Park is located in the town of Tralee and has a capacity of 1,400. It is the home of Kerry FC who will participate in the professional leagues for the first time in their history.
The Strokestown Road is a football stadium in Longford and the home of Longford Town. It has a capacity of 5,000 and was built in 1994.
The Markets Field is a stadium in the city of Limerick that was opened at the end of the 19th century. It is the home ground of Treaty United FC which was founded in 2020 following the demise of Limerick F.C. and began playing in the League of Ireland in 2021.
The Waterford Regional Sports Centre was opened in 1993 and serves as the home to Waterford F.C. The club has won the Irish top division 6 times with the last being in 1973.
The Ferrycarrig Park in Wexford County is the home to Wexford F.C. since its opening in 2007. It can hold 2,500 people.
