MLS 2024 stadiums
The Mercedes Benz Stadium opened in 2017 and has a capacity of 75,000 which is reduced to 42,500 for soccer matches. It serves as the home stadium of the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL and Atlanta United FC of the MLS. The club won the MLS Cup in 2018 in the second MLS season.
The Q2 Stadium opened in 2021 and has a capacity of 20,700. It is the home of Austin FC who are playing in the MLS since 2021.
The Bank of America Stadium opened in 1996 with a capacity of 75,000. For most soccer matches the capacity is reduced to 40,000. The stadium is the home of the Carolina Panthers of the NFL and Charlotte FC of the MLS since they started playing in the league in 2022.
One of the oldest stadium in the MLS is Soldier Field. It opened in 1924 and has a capacity of 61,500. For soccer matches the capacity is reduced to 25,000. The stadium is home to the Chicago Bears of the NFL and the Chicago Fire of the MLS. The club won their only MLS Cup in their debut season in 1998.
TQL Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium that can hold approximately 26,000 spectators. It is the home of FC Cincinnati since its opening in 2021. The club has competed in the MLS since 2019.
The Dick’s Sporting Goods Park opened in 2007 and can hold 19,000 people. It is the home of the 2010 MLS Cup winners, Colorado Rapids. The club has played in every MLS season since 1996.
The Lower.com Field opened in 2021 with a capacity of 20.000. It is the home of Columbus Crew one of the first MLS clubs. The current MLS Cup winners have won the title another 2 times.
The Toyota Stadium opened in 2005 and can hold 19,000 people. Since then it has been the home ground of FC Dallas.
The Audi Field opened in 2018 and has a capacity of 20,000. It is the home of DC United. The club has played in every MLS season since the inaugural season in 1996 and has won the title 4 times. The team also won the 1998 CONCACAF Champions League.
The Shell Energy Stadium opened in 2012 and can hold 20,000 people. It serves as the home to Houston Dynamo FC. They have been MLS Cup champions twice, winning during their first two seasons in 2006 and 2007.
The Dignity Health Sports Park opened in 2003 and its capacity is 26,000 seats. It is the home of the most successful MLS club Los Angeles Galaxy. The club has played in every MLS season having won the title 5 times. The team also won the 2000 CONCACAF Champions League.
The BMO Stadium opened in 2018 and can hold 22,000 people. It is the home of the 2022 MLS Cup winners, Los Angeles FC.
The Allianz Field opened in 2019 and is the home of Minnesota United FC who have been playing in the MLS since 2019. The stadium has a capacity of 19,400.
The DRV PNK Stadium opened in 2020 with a 21,000-seat capacity. It has been the interim home of Inter Miami since the 1st MLS season in 2020.
The Saputo Stadium opened in 2008 in Montreal, Canada, and has a capacity of 19,600. It has been the home of CF Montreal since they started playing in the MLS in 2012.
One of the newest stadiums in the league is Geodis Park opened in 2022. It has a capacity of 30,000 and it is the home of Nashville SC. The team began play in Major League Soccer in 2020.
The Gillette Stadium is another stadium that hosts both NFL and MLS matches. It serves as the home to the New England Patriots of the NFL and the New England Revolution of the MLS. It opened in 2002 and has a capacity of 68,700 which is reduced to 20,000 for soccer games. The New England Revolution is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS. The club has never won the MLS Cup despite having played in 5 final games.
Yankee Stadium is a baseball stadium located in New York City. It is the home field for the New York Yankees of the MLB and the 2021 MLS champions New York City FC. The stadium opened in 2009, replacing the original Yankee Stadium that operated from 1923.
The Red Bull Arena opened in 2010 and can hold 25,000 people. It is the home of the New York Red Bulls. The club started playing in the MLS in 1996 as New York Metrostasrs. They have never won the title.
The Exploria Stadium opened in 2017 and it has a capacity of 25,000. It is the home of Orlando City SC since their MLS inaugural season in 2015.
The Subaru Park opened in 2010 and has a capacity of 18,000. It is the home of the Philadelphia Union which joined MLS in 2010. They played in the 2022 MLS Cup final losing to LA FC.
The oldest stadium in the MLS, opened in 1926, is Providence Park in Portland. It can hold 25,000 people and is the home of Portland Timbers. The club started playing in the MLS in 2011 and won the title in 2015.
The America First Field opened in 2008 and can seat 20,000 people. It is the home of the 2009 MLS Cup champions, Real Salt Lake.
The smallest stadium in the league with a capacity of 18,000 is PayPal Park in San Jose. It opened in 2015 and is the home of San Jose Earthquakes. The franchise began play in 1996 as one of the charter members of the league. The Earthquakes have won two MLS Cup titles.
The Lumen field is a multi-purpose stadium with a seating capacity of 68,740 spectators for NFL games and 37,700 for soccer matches. It is the home field for the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL and the Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer (MLS). Seattle won the MLS Cup in 2016 and 2019 and in 2022 they won the CONCACAF Champions League.
The Children’s Mercy Park opened in 2011 and has a seating capacity of 18,500 seats. It serves as the home to Sporting Kansas City. The franchise has won the MLS Cup twice.
The newest stadium in the league is the in St Louis, Missouri. It was completed in November 2022 with a capacity of 22,400. It is the home of St. Louis City SC who joined the MLS in the 2023 season.
The BMO Field opened in 2007 and has a capacity of 31,000. It is the home of the 2017 MLS Cup winners, Toronto FC.
The 3rd stadium in Canada that hosts MLS games is the BC Place in Vancouver. It has a total capacity of 54,500 which is reduced to 22,000 for soccer matches. It is the home of Vancouver Whitecaps FC which joined the MLS in 2011.
