The Stadiums of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted across six Moroccan cities, utilizing a mix of historical venues and ultra-modern sporting complexes.

The tournament’s infrastructure is anchored by the capital city, Rabat, which serves as the operational hub and features multiple venues.

Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium

The centerpiece is the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, a completely rebuilt facility with a capacity exceeding 68,000.

This massive arena, now devoid of its old athletics track to bring fans closer to the action, will stage the opening match of the tournament as well as the grand final on January 18, 2026.

Other Rabat Stadiums

Rabat is unique in this edition for providing additional smaller venues like the Moulay Hassan Stadium, the Al Barid Stadium, and the Rabat Olympic Stadium, which are scheduled to host various group stage matches, creating a concentrated festival atmosphere within the capital.

The Moulay El Hassan Stadium, home to FUS Rabat, has been modernized into a compact, 22,000-seat football-specific venue with a new roof and no running track.

Al Barid Stadium

Al Barid Stadium (sometimes referred to as the Post Office Stadium or Al Medina) is a newly built 18,000-seat arena known for its white, diamond-patterned exterior and close-to-pitch seating.

Rabat Olympic Stadium

The Rabat Olympic Stadium was also built in 2025 with roughly 21,000 seats after a rapid nine-month construction.

Tangier Grand Stadium

To the north, the Tangier Grand Stadium (also known as Ibn Batouta Stadium) stands as the largest venue in the competition.

Following an extensive expansion project, its capacity has been increased to approximately 75,500 spectators.

The renovations included the removal of the running track and the installation of a roof covering the stands, transforming it into a world-class football-specific arena that will host 6 matches, including one semi-final.

Mohammed V Stadium

In Casablanca, the legendary Stade Mohammed V remains the spiritual home of Moroccan football and the oldest stadium in the country.

This 45,000-seat stadium has undergone significant refurbishment to upgrade its facilities while retaining its renowned intimidating atmosphere.

It is set to host group stage clashes and the third-place playoff.

Marrakech Stadium

Moving inland and south, the Grand Stade de Marrakech offers a distinct architectural style.
With a capacity of around 45,000, it will host round of 16 and quarter-final fixtures.

Adrar Stadium

Similarly, the coastal city of Agadir provides the Adrar Stadium, a 45,000-seat venue.

The stadium will host one of the quartefinals of the tournament.

Finally, the Fez Stadium in the cultural capital of Fez has been modernized to meet international standards, offering a capacity of roughly 45,000 for group matches and a Round of 16 tie.
