USL Championship 2023 Stadiums

The USL Championship is a professional men’s soccer league in the United States. It is the second tier of professional soccer in the United States below Major League Soccer (MLS). The League was founded in 2011 after the dissolution of the USL First Division and features 24 clubs playing in two conferences, separated geographically into an Eastern and Western Conference. In this article, we will have a look at the stadiums that will host this tournament.

USL Championship 2023 Stadiums

The Trinity Health Stadium (formerly Dillon Stadium) is a multipurpose stadium in Hartford, Connecticut. It was built in 1935 and has served as the home to many soccer clubs. Since 2019, it is the home of Hartford Athletic which was founded in 2018 and started playing in the USL Championship in 2019. The capacity for soccer games is 5,500.

The Al Lang Stadium is a 7,500-seat stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was built in 1947 and was used almost exclusively as a baseball park for many years. Since 2011, it has been the home pitch of the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The Rowdies have been members of the USL Championship since 2017.

The Torero Stadium is a 6,000-seat multi-purpose stadium, located on the campus of the University of San Diego in San Diego, California. Opened 62 years ago in 1961, it serves as the home to San Diego Loyal SC since they have started playing in the league in 2020.

The Toyota Field is a soccer-specific stadium in San Antonio, Texas. The facility opened on April 13, 2013, and has a capacity of 8,296 for soccer matches. It serves as the home to San Antonio FC since 2016 when they first appeared in the USL Championship.

The Heart Health Park is a sports venue located in Sacramento, California. The soccer-specific stadium has a capacity of 11,569 and was built in March 2014. Heart Health Park is the current home of Sacramento Republic FC which is part of the USL Championship since 2012.

The H-E-B Park is a soccer-specific stadium in Edinburg, Texas. It serves as the home of Rio Grande Valley FC Toros which was founded in 2015 and is affiliated with the Houston Dynamo, of Major League Soccer. The stadium which was opened in 2015 has two stands and a capacity of 9,735.

The Highmark Stadium is a 5,000-seat soccer-specific stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is the home of Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC since 2013. Pittsburgh Riverhounds is one of the few clubs that have participated in all the seasons of the USL Championship. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000.

The Lynn Family Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. The field is home to Louisville City FC of the USL Championship since its opening in 2020. The club has been part of the USLC since 2015. The stadium has a capacity of 11,700.

The Championship Soccer Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in Irvine, California. The stadium serves as the permanent home of Orange County SC of the USL Championship. The stadium was built on May 6, 2017, and has a capacity of 5,000 seats.

The Laney College Football Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located on the Laney College campus in Oakland, California. The stadium is the home field of the Oakland Roots SC which has been part of the USL Championship since 2021. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500.

The Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park, previously known only as Isotopes Park, is a baseball stadium located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The stadium hosts New Mexico United, an expansion team in the United Soccer League that began play in 2019. The stadium was built in April 11, 2003, and has a capacity of 13,500.

The Protective Stadium is a football stadium located in Birmingham, Alabama. The stadium serves as a home for the Birmingham Legion FC which has been playing in the USL Championship since 2019. It was built in 2021 and with 47,100 seat capacity is by far the biggest stadium in the League.

The Patriots Point Soccer Complex is a soccer stadium located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.  The stadium has as 5,000-seat capacity and opened in 2000. Since the 2020 season, the venue has hosted Charleston Battery of the USL Championship. Founded in 1993, the Battery are one of the oldest continuously operating professional soccer clubs in the United States and has been participating in all the seasons of the USL Championship.

The Keyworth Stadium is a 7,933-seat soccer stadium located in Hamtramck, Michigan, an enclave of Detroit. It was built in 1936 and was renovated in 2016 to become the home of Detroit City FC. The club joined the USL Championship for the 2022 season.

The Southwest University Park is a baseball stadium in El Paso, Texas. Primarily used for Minor League Baseball, it is also the home of the El Paso Locomotive. Founded in 2018, the team made its debut in the USL Championship in 2019. Opened in 2014, the stadium has an official capacity of 9,500.

The Oneok Field is a baseball park in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Oneok Field has been the home of FC Tulsa of the USL Championship since 2015. The stadium opened on April 8, 2010, and can hold 7,833 spectators.

The Weidner Field is a soccer-specific stadium located in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. Opened on April 24, 2021, it is home to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC that have been playing in USL Championship since 2015.  The stadium has a capacity of 8,000.

The IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium is a soccer and track and field stadium located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The stadium is the home of Indy Eleven that participate in the USL Championship since 2018. It opened in 1982 and has a 12,111 capacity.

The Cashman Field is a stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Originally built as a baseball stadium, it is now primarily used for soccer as the home field of Las Vegas Lights FC of the USL Championship since they were founded in 2018. It opened on April 1, 1983 and has a capacity of 9,334 seats.

The Segra Field is a soccer-specific stadium in Leesburg, Virginia, and the home of Loudoun United FC of the USL Championship. The team was founded in 2018 as the reserve team of D.C. United and made its debut in the USL Championship in 2019. The stadium opened on July 18, 2018 with a 5,000 capacity.

The AutoZone Park is a Minor League Baseball stadium located in Memphis, Tennessee. Except for baseball, it also serves as the home to Memphis 901 FC of the USL Championship since its debut in the league in 2019. It opened on April 1, 2000, and has a capacity of 10,000.

The Riccardo Silva Stadium is a college football and soccer stadium on the campus of Florida International University, in Westchester. It is the home stadium of the Miami FC soccer team from the USL Championship since their first year in the league in 2020. The stadium opened in 1995 and has a seating capacity of 20,000.

The Cardinale Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium on the campus of California State University in Seaside, California. It is the home of Monterey Bay FC which was established in 2021 and is a member of the USL Championship since 2022. The stadium opened on May 7, 2022, and has a 6,000 seats capacity.

The Phoenix Rising Soccer Stadium will be a soccer-specific stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, and the home of Phoenix Rising FC. The first game at the new stadium is scheduled for April 1, 2023, with Rising playing San Diego Loyal SC. It will have a capacity of 10,000 seats.
