The A-League is the highest-level professional soccer league in Australia and New Zealand.
The 26-round regular season is followed by a Finals Series playoff involving the six best-placed clubs, which ends in a grand final game. The season spans from October to May. The victor of the grand final becomes the season’s “Champion,” while the winner of the regular season tournament is known as the “Premier.”
Similar to the United States and Canada’s Major League Soccer and Canadian Premier League, the A-League does not practice relegation and promotion.
