King Saud University Stadium, now known as “Mrsool Park,” is a multi-use stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The stadium was built in 2014 on the King Saud University campus, with the construction to have started in the spring of 2011.
The stadium which was made under the FIFA rules for international games costs around 57 million dollars and has a capacity of 25,000 seats. It has a straightforward design with the stands creating a single ring around the field. It is one of the few stadiums in the country that is specifically designed for football games.
The stadium which belongs to the King Saud University is operated since September 2020 by the Al-Wasail Saudi Arabia (an international advertising company). The stadium was renovated at the end of 2020 and the name was changed to Mrsool park. MRSOOL is one of the largest delivery platforms in the country and became the first company in the region to have signed a naming rights sponsorship.
Since the end of 2020, the stadium is the home Al-Nasr Football Club, one of the most successful soccer teams of Saudi Arabia. Previously, Al-Hilal, another famous Saudi Arabian football club, were the tenants of King Saud Stadium from the second part of the 2017–18 season until the end of the 2019–20 season.
With the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr fans will have the chance the watch one of the best footballers in the world, playing in their stadium. But this will not be the first time that the Portuguese star will play in Mrsool Park. On 22 December 2019 when Ronaldo was playing for Juventus, the Italian Super cup was held at the King Saud University Stadium. Lazio won the match 3–1 with Cristiano playing the whole match.
In 2021, the stadium hosted the Maradona Cup between Boca Juniors and FC Barcelona to honor Diego Maradona, who died the previous year.
In addition to football games, the stadium hosted the WWE event Crown Jewel in 2018 and 2022.
