Copa Libertadores 2024 Stadiums

The 2024 Copa Libertadores is the 65th edition of the CONMEBOL Libertadores, South America’s premier club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL.

32 teams participate in the group stage of the tournament and in this article we will have a look at their stadiums.

Estadio Universitario

Maracanã  – Flamengo, Fluminense

The Maracana is the biggest stadium in Brazil with a capacity of 73,000. It opened in 1950 and hosted the World Cup final of the same year.

It is home to the current Copa Libertadores winners, Fluminense and the 3 times champions CR Flamengo.

Estadio General Pablo Rojas – Cerro Porteno

The biggest stadium in Paraguay with a capacity of 45,000 is the Estadio General Pablo Rojas. It is the home of Cerro Porteno.

The club has reached the semifinals 6 times in 45 appearances in the competition.

Estadio Alejandro Villanueva – Club Alianza Lima

The Estadio Alejandro Villanueva is the home of Alianza Lima. It has a capacity of 34,00 spectators.

The club has reached the semifinals 2 times in 29 appearances in the competition.

Estadio Monumental David Arellano – Colo Colo

The Estadio Monumental serves as the home ground of Colo-Colo. It has a current spectator capacity of 47,000.

Colo Colo has won the title in 1991 in 34 appearances in the competition.

Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes – Talleres

The Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes is the home of the Argentinian runner ups, Talleres. It opened in 1976 and has a capacity of 57,000.

This will be the 4th appearance of Talleres in the competition.

Estadio Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo – Barcelona ECU

The largest stadium in Ecuador with a capacity of 59,000 is Estadio Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo.

It is the home of Barcelona, who have lost the Copa Libertadores final twice.

Estadio Municipal “Zorros del Desierto” de Calama – Cobresal

The Estadio Zorros del Desierto has a capacity of 12,300 and will host the home games of Cobresal.

This will be the 3rd appearance of the Chilean club in the competition.

Estadio do Morumbi – Sao Paulo

The Estádio do Morumbi has a capacity of 67,000 and is the home of the 3 times Copa Libertadores champions, Sao Paulo.

Estadio Hernando Siles – The Strongest, Club Bolivar

The biggest stadium in Bolivia with 41,000 seats is Estadio Hernando Siles.

It is the home of the Bolivian champions, The Strongest and Club Bolivar. The first has 30 appearances in the competition while the second has 38. Bolivar have reached the semi-finals twice.

Estadio El Campín – Millonarios

The Estadio El Campín has a capacity of 39,500 and is the home of the Colombian runner-up, Millonarios.

The club has played in the Copa Libertadores 20 times and and has reached the semifinal three times.

Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi – Estudiantes

With a seating capacity of 35,530, the Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi is the home field of club Estudiantes de La Plata.

The club has 4 titles in 17 appearances in the competition.

Estadio CAP Acero – Huachipato

The smallest stadium in the tournament with a capacity of 10,000 is Estadio CAP Acero.

It is the home of the Chilean champions, Huachipato FC.

This is the 3rd club’s appearance in the Copa Libertadores.

Arena do Grêmio – Gremio

The Arena do Gremio has a capacity of 60,540 and is the home of Gremio.

Gremio have won the title 3 times in 21 appearances.

Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez – Junior

The biggest stadium is Colombia with a capacity of 47,000 is Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez.

It is the home of Atlético Junior who have played in the Libertadores semifinal once in 17 appearances.

Estadio Monumental “U” – Universitario

The 2nd biggest stadium is South America with a capacity of 80,000 is Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru.

It is the home of Universitario de Deportes. The club has played in the tournament 32 times without ever winning the title.

Estadio Olímpico Santos – Botafogo

The Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos has a capacity of 47,000 and is the home of Botafogo.

The Brazilian side has played in the Libertadores Cup 5 times reaching the semifinals twice.

Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado – LDU Quito

The Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado has a capacity of 41,500 and is the home of the Ecuadorian champions LDU Quito.
They were the first Ecuadorian club to win the Copa Libertadores in 2008.

Allianz Parque – Palmeiras

With a total capacity of 43,000, Allianz Parque is the home of the Brazilian champions, Palmeiras.

Palmeiras have won the title 3 times and have also lost in the final another 3 times.

Estadio Banco Guayaquil – Independiente del Valle

The Estadio Banco Guayaquil has a capacity of 12,500 and is the home of Independiente del Valle.
The Ecuadorian side has played in 7 Libertadores editions, losing the 2016 final.

Estadio Pedro Bidegain – San Lorenzo de Almagro

The Estadio Pedro Bidegain has a capacity of 48,000 and is the home od San Lorenzo.

The club has won the 2014 Libertadores title.

Estadio Centernario – Liverpool URU

The biggest stadium in Uruguay with a capacity of 60,000 is Estadio Centenario.

It is used by the Uruguayan champions, Liverpool F.C. This will be their 3rd appearance in the Copa Libertadores.

Arena MRV – Atletico Mineiro

The Arena MRV opened in 2023 with a capacity of 46,000 and is the home of Atlético Mineiro.

The club has won the 2013 Copa Libertadores Final

Estadio Campeón del Siglo – Penarol

The Estadio Campeón del Siglo can hold 40,000 people and is the home of Penarol.

Peñarol is the third-highest Copa Libertadores winner with five victories.

Estadio Gigante de Arroyito – Rosario Central

The Estadio Gigante de Arroyito has a capacity of 48,000 and is the home of Rosario Central.

The Argentinian club has played in 13 Libertadores editions reaching the semifinal twice.

Estadio Olímpico de Venezuela – Caracas FC

The Estadio Olímpico de Venezuela is the home of Caracas FC and has a capacity of 21,000.
The Venezuelan club has played in 22 Libertadores editions reaching the quarterfinals once.

Estadio Monumental – River Plate

The biggest stadium in South America with a capacity of 86,000 is Estadio Monumental the home of River Plate.

The Argentinian champions are ranked first in the historical table of the Copa Libertadores, being the team with the most games won and the most points gained. They have won 4 Copa Libertadores finals.

Estadio Gran Parque Central – Nacional

The Estadio Gran Parque Central is the home of Nacional Montevideo and has a capacity of 38,000.

Nacional is the club with the most appearances in Copa Libertadores with 51. The have won the title 3 times.

Estadio Polideportivo de Pueblo Nuevo – Deportivo Tachira

The Estadio Polideportivo de Pueblo Nuevo has a capacity of 40,000 and is the home of Deportivo Tachira of Venezuaela

The club has played in 21 Libertadores editions reaching the quarter-finals once.

Estadio Tigo La Huerta – Libertad FC

The Estadio Tigo La Huerta is the home venue of the Paraguayan Champions Club Libertad and has a capacity of 10,300.

The club has played in 20 Libertadores editions reaching the semi-finals twice.

Estadio El Teniente, Estadio Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso – Palestino

The Estadio El Teniente and the Estadio Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso will be used by Palestino for their home games in the 2024 Copa Libertadores

This will be the 7th appearance of the Chilean club in the Copa Libertadores. Their biggest success is reaching the semifinals in 1979.
